WHY CHOOSE A SCHOOL WITH THE DELARIVA METHOD
Created by Master Ricardo de la Riva, our method is based on a differentiated methodology that has been improved over many years of experience on the mat and that is constantly being updated. The De La Rive Method teaching-learning techniques cover three different dimensions:
ATTITUDINAL DIMENSION
The attitudinal dimension encompasses the following question: “How should one be?” This refers to the values, norms and attitudes that are fundamental points in the practice of Jiu Jitsu.
CONCEPTUAL DIMENSION
The conceptual dimension should answer the question: “what should one know?” The conceptual dimension is present in the explanations of the rules that govern the different modalities, in the teaching of historic facts traditionally related to the practice of this sport, and in the explanations on the forms of training.
PROCEDURAL DIMENSION
The procedural dimension relates to the question: “what should one do?” This covers the set of coordinated actions required to achieve a specific end. In pedagogy, it is the part of teaching that focuses on “knowing how”, in other words, on the performance of practical activities to develop the techniques that vary considerably according to the modality of each belt level, from the stretching and warm up exercises, repetition of techniques, physical and tactical training sessions, up to actual competitions and fight simulations, amongst numerous other possibilities.
